| Abo ut Us About now, you are asking - "so, who or what is Shimmering Glass?" Once upon a time there were two magic elves who came out of the forest to spread the word about "Warm Glass". "Glass is Good" was their motto and everywhere they went they.."...not buying that, huh? What if I told you that Shimmering Glass ust a couple of normal - well, sort of normal, people who came to love working with Glass? That's the truth of it - and while the way w e got into creating fused glass is a funny story in and of itself, we don't have the time nor the inclination to reveal too much about our personal lives here - so, suffice it to say that Shimmering Glass is simply two people, Jeanne and Richard, who love each other very much and who love working with Fused Glass almost as much! We only hope you love the glass we have created for you half as much as we enjoyed creating it!  Ok,let's get serious for a minute - Shimmering Glass, the inspired creation of Jeanne and Richard Bascom, is a Milwaukee-based studio specializing in one-of-a-kind glass fused glass vases, bowls, plates and jewelry. The dynamic husband and wife team began with a single kiln and an idea. Through fearless experimentation, practice, and imagination, they have perfected (well, while not really perfect, we are working on it!) the art of fused glass and expanded into a web-based shop with an huge selection of fused glass vases, plates bowls and jewerly. The truth of it is, since we first started working with fused glass, we have ended up with so much fused glass in our home, we don't know what to do with it! SO, we figureed, why not share it - sell the best of what we have created at a reasonable price, enough to cover our costs and allow us to pay the HUGE Electric bills (those kilns will eat up electricity) and Viola!
